1. Introduction

Welcome to Campus to Commerce. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of campustocommerce.org and all related services (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are operated by Campus to Commerce (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting college students with small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) for short-term, project-based micro internships.

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the Services.

2. Definitions

  • “Platform” refers to the Campus to Commerce website, dashboards, and related applications.
  • “User” refers to any individual who accesses or uses our Services, including Students and Business Partners.
  • “Student” refers to a college student registered on our platform seeking micro internship opportunities.
  • “Business Partner” refers to a business or organization registered on our platform offering micro internship opportunities.
  • “Micro Internship” refers to a short-term, project-based internship opportunity, typically lasting between 2 to 8 weeks.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Registration

To access certain features of the Services, you must register for an account. When you register, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself and to maintain and promptly update this information.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your account.

3.3 Account Types

Our platform offers different account types:

  • Student Accounts: Available to currently enrolled college students.
  • Business Partner Accounts: Available to businesses and organizations seeking to provide micro internship opportunities.
  • Administrator Accounts: Reserved for Campus to Commerce staff and authorized personnel.

4. Student-Specific Terms

4.1 Eligibility

To be eligible for a Student account, you must be:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • At least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
  • Able to provide proof of enrollment when requested

4.2 Profile Information

Students are responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date profile information, including educational background, skills, and career interests. This information may be used by our AI-matching system to recommend relevant internship opportunities.

4.3 Application Process

Students may apply for micro internships through the platform. By submitting an application, you:

  • Certify that all provided information is accurate and complete
  • Agree to participate in the internship program if selected
  • Authorize Business Partners to review your profile and application materials

5. Business Partner-Specific Terms

5.1 Eligibility

Business Partners must:

  • Be legally registered businesses or organizations
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date business information

5.2 Program Requirements

Business Partners agree to:

  • Provide clear and accurate descriptions of micro internship opportunities
  • Offer meaningful learning experiences for Students
  • Adhere to all applicable labor laws and regulations
  • Provide necessary resources and support to interns
  • Complete all required compliance documentation

5.3 Payment and Compensation

Campus to Commerce manages and administers payments to Students. Business Partners agree to comply with our payment policies and to provide fair compensation for internship work.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Platform Content

The Services and their original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Campus to Commerce and its licensors. The Services are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

6.2 User Content

You retain ownership of content you create and share on our platform (“User Content”). By posting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content in connection with providing the Services.

6.3 Internship Work Product

The ownership of work products created during micro internships should be clearly defined in the internship agreement between the Business Partner and the Student. Campus to Commerce does not claim ownership of such work products.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share your personal information. By using our Services, you agree to our collection and use of information in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use our Services in any way that violates any applicable laws or regulations
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
  • Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone’s use or enjoyment of the Services
  • Use the Services to send advertising or promotional material, including spam
  • Attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the Services
  • Make improper use of our support services or submit false reports of abuse or misconduct
  • Attempt to bypass any measures designed to prevent or restrict access to the Services
  • Use any robot, spider, or other automatic device to access the Services
  • Introduce any viruses, trojan horses, worms, or other material which is malicious or harmful

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including, without limitation, if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Services or contact us to request account deletion.

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that (a) the Services will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location; (b) any errors or defects will be corrected; (c) the Services are free of viruses or other harmful components; or (d) the results of using the Services will meet your requirements.

11. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL CAMPUS TO COMMERCE OR ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Services
  • Any content obtained from the Services
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Campus to Commerce and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees) arising from:

  • Your use of and access to the Services
  • Your violation of any term of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right
  • Any claim that your User Content caused damage to a third party

13. External Links and Third-Party Resources

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or resources that are not owned or controlled by Campus to Commerce. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or resources. You acknowledge and agree that we shall not be responsible or liable for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such websites or resources.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review these Terms periodically for any changes. Changes to these Terms are effective when they are posted on this page.

Your continued use of the Services after the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Campus to Commerce regarding our Services and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have had between us regarding the Services.
